This innovative single-camera scripted comedy takes us behind the scenes of a fictional lifestyle show called Smart Woman, where we follow the crazed team of women who produce the show and who must consistently find ways to survive the daily indignities doled out by their diva boss.

A cross between the behind-the-scenes antics of The Larry Sanders Show and the practical panache of Martha Stewart Living and not unlike the relationship comedy of Sex In The City, the series includes must-have real-life information while entertaining with strong comedic story lines.

We follow Liz the multi-tasking producer (doomed to fail as a wife and mother) Brooke the hedonistic associate producer (brutally honest and with a lust for life that includes Fendi and football players) and Natalie, the neurotic researcher (whose desire to succeed always drags her thru failure first), as they bicker and bond over their work, love and life struggles. The unpredictable presence that makes their lives so – interesting, is superstar lifestyle empress Lana Pearson, host of Smart Woman. The self-obsessions of this Oprah wannabe fill each day with fresh and inventive tasks and emotional torture.

The men behind the smart woman include Reggie, Lana’s obsequious make up artist, Phil, their space cadet genius I.T. guy, Alistair, Lana’s long suffering assistant and possibly the only one who sees the world as it really is, and Steve, Liz’s supportive husband who must dodge emasculating bullets each time he gets near the office of Smart Woman.

Each episode is a race toward the production of a segment of Lana’s lifestyle show where everyone’s personal issues inevitably collide with their professional obligations in a finale that aims to satisfy the appetite for cool new information and comedic justice.

Written around the dilemmas of the modern woman, the series is a comedic, practical and distinctly female guide to everyday survival.
